Presentation Description (for publishing in the conference program)
This session examines five Canadian perspectives on Credential Assessor Competencies. First, setting the scene: the British Columbia (BC) government's experience ensuring immigrants have properly recognized credentials as well as the impact on the economy, the labour market, employers and on the immigrants themselves. Second, credential assessor competencies: the Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials (CICIC) competencies and how these competencies have been taken up around the world. Third, the experience of a credential agency's experience as an employer and trainer of credential assessors. Fourth, the experience of a large Canadian regulatory body. And fifth, the experience of a small Canadian health professional body.
