Luisa Orticelli Pinto During lunch or break times I would love to see "round table discussion" opportunities, does anyone else agree? For example, tables could have a specific country or region and attendees could go to a specific table to discuss questions they may have about evaluation in those specific regions to see how others evaluate them. Another idea is to have an opportunity for round table discussions with those that work for universities to build relationships and sharing of information.

Ena Chaisson Love this idea! I'm game to sit and answer questions about Canada as best I can with a promise to answer specifics after the conference. My research has focused on documents in higher ed in Canada for admissions purposes and helping new evaluators gain confidence and skills in evaluation at an undergraduate teaching university in Canada.

Timothy Kell Luisa and Ena- I love the idea- but it needs someone to make it happen. Would either of you be interested in taking the lead on implementing this? Contact me directly by email and we can discuss more.

Peggy Hendrickson I would be very interested in co-presenting with someone, but my creativity just isn't flowing so I have no brilliant ideas. (I mean, I always have a list of possible article or session ideas, but none of them are grabbing me today.) I'm a generalist who has presented on the past on country updates (specializing in Asian and African regions, verification and fraud, resources, and more. I'm kind of interested in doing a Francophone Africa session unless that's already being covered, but I'm open to a variety. Let me know if you're interested in talking about ideas or would like a co-presenter with lots of experience in both the public research university and private evaluation sector. peggy@transcriptresearch.com

Dr. Patrick Leahy I'm thinking about proposing a panel on international summer programs in East Asia and the transfer of credit. Varying institutional policies and practices regarding these programs and the transfer of credit would be the focus. Is anyone interested in this topic as well as co-presenting on it?

Ena Chaisson Great idea! I will be in early on the Sunday before and I'm sure others will be as well. A pre-Conference Canadian Coffee Chat maybe?

Mr. Andrew Goss I'm interested in presenting on an institutional perspective on transnational secondary school programs. At Indiana University we see a fair amount of them and I'd love to not just share what we do but see how others treat the programs. I'd also like to get some MOE, NARIC or other government organizations opinions as well. Please send me an e-mail at ajgoss@iu.edu if you are interested in Co-Presenting

Basirat Agboola Hello everyone, I'm interested in submitting a proposal exploring the collective support we can give to newly established national qualification bodies around the popular international qualifications offered at the high school level (e.g. IB, UK curriculum, US curriculum). I have noticed increasing demand from these stakeholders especially around 1) establishing equivalence to the local qualifications, 2) understanding and communicating critical reforms/subject refresh, 3) facilitating progression across different education pathways offered in country and of course into national universities who themselves may have also have had limited exposure to these international qualifications in the past. Format still tbc but definitely want to see a high degree of interactivity and cross stakeholder perspectives. Please get in contact if you are interested in scoping this out more and co-presenting

Justine Watts Hello Fellow Evaluators! It's me again! I am submitting another proposal for the 2019 TAICEP Conference in Vancouver, and would love to have a co-presenter. This proposed session focuses on the controversial topics in credential evaluation. Using smartphone interactive polling, I'd like to host a lively discussion of evaluation of education that does not fit nicely into a box. Three-year Indian bachelor degree anyone? :) Using the interactive polling, I'd like to present a question, have attendees vote via smartphone, display the results and have a discussion before moving on to the next question. Does this sound like a session you'd like to co-present? Let me know! Thanks!

Timothy Kell I can confirm this year there will be WIFI in the hotel for all attendees, so things like this should work really well.

Ildiko Bors Hi Justine, this topic is great, but what is even greater is your suggested format for the session. It will not only encourage but create instant participation. I would love to be a part of this. Thank you, Ildi

Justine Watts Hello Fellow Evaluators! I am submitting a proposal for the 2019 TAICEP Conference in Vancouver, and would love to have a co-presenter. My proposed session focuses on accreditation across borders - how do we view regional and national accreditation in the age of online education and increased globalization of education? Methods for recognizing (or not recognizing) education not accredited in the country of delivery will be discussed. Does this sound like a session you'd like to co-present? Let me know! Thanks!

Timothy Kell Welcome everyone! New for 2019 is the TAICEP Conference message board. In the past, many attendees have requested a way to network and connect with colleagues before the conference. We hope this message board will provide a means to meet others who are planning to attend. Looking for a co-presenter for your session proposal? Want input on a session topic you're thinking of? Have suggestions for the conference planning team? Hoping to get some travel and tourism advice from a Vancouver local? This is the place.
