This abstract has open access
Presentation Description (for publishing in the conference program)
Most of the Gulf States? post-secondary systems follow the North American credit and grading system, with only a couple of exceptions (Iran especially). Participants will gain an understanding of the similarities that the Gulf States share with each other and with the US, making credentials less intimidating upon receipt. An overview of each country?s post-secondary education system, along with an explanation of their credit and grading systems, is provided. Participants will examine many actual examples of transcripts from various universities within each country. The workshop concludes with a more in-depth look at post-secondary education in Iran and its credit and grading system as well as explores Iranian public and private universities and the steps students need to take in order to qualify for admission to different types of higher education institutions.
