The New European Database of External Quality Assurance (DEQAR) complements the European Higher Education Area's (EHEA) quality assurance framework. While published quality assurance reports have been a common practice in Europe, following the agreed Standards and Guidelines (ESG), these guidelines were spread across numerous agency websites. DEQAR aims to make reports and decisions more accessible and understandable. It currently features 8,121 reports on 1,399 higher education institutions in 36 European countries, combined with standardised profiles of the quality assurance systems of these countries. DEQAR's key target groups are recognition officers and credential evaluators who may use the information provided to facilitate their work.
