This session provides a comprehensive and comparative educational analysis of secondary and higher education in Hong Kong. This session will focus on secondary and higher education before the Transfer of Sovereignty over Hong Kong in 1997 and important educational reforms made both shortly after as well as years after the Transfer of Sovereignty. Specifically, this session will focus on the New Academic Structure, which has been the largest and most comprehensive educational reform of the Hong Kong education system to date. Additionally, this session will seek to connect the educational reforms with the transformation of Hong Kong's education system from a British model to a Sino one and briefly go over Hong Kong's educational relationship with Mainland China.
