Two-Cycle Medical Education in the European Higher Education Area

Session Information

Participants gain an understanding of the debate within the EHEA around two-cycle professional medical degrees. Focusing primarily on the Netherlands, Portugal and Germany, participants are familiarized with the Bologna Process, Bologna-style degrees, and the terminology used in medical curricula. The three focus countries each have a differently structured medical curriculum and through the descriptions and analysis of each, participants learn how medical education has been transformed by the Bologna reforms.
